Who We Are

We are Jeremy and Rhonda Gudgeon.  Together with our kids, Autumn and Elliot, we run a relatively small kennel of Alaskan Husky sled dogs.  We've been married since 1996 and were together for a couple of years before that.  We discovered our mutual fascination for sled dogs shortly after we were married and soon started obtaining dogs to fulfill those dreams.  At first, we did not have any real racing aspirations and had only actually seen sprint races.  We ended up with a mix of different types of huskies before finally deciding within the last five years that what we really want to do is mid distance type running.  We are now located in Ironwood, Michigan and have a kennel ranging from 25-30 dogs.  We are proud of our rag-tag group of sled dogs-they might not have impeccable bloodlines, but they sure do have heart and have made us happy with their performance.  In 2012, Jeremy participated in and finished middle of the pack in his first two mid distance races-The Apostle Islands Sled Dog Race in Bayfield, Wisconsin and The Jack Pine 30 in Gwinn, Michigan.  He enjoyed the experience and now is hoping to become more competitive and complete longer, tougher races, with Rhonda acting as main handler along with the kids help.
